The Eclipse Prayer (al-Kusoof)

The Meaning of al-Kusoof and Wisdom Behind Prayer

The kusoof is applied to a total or partial eclipse of the sun or moon, when a portion or all of the light the sun or the moon are covered. These events are the signs of Allah that should encourage people to prepare for the Hereafter and to realize how God sees them. Should the eclipse of leading people to turn over to him in all circumstances and to think of Your Excellency in His creation. You should make a person realize that the only worthy of worship.

If a solar or lunar eclipse, it is sunnah to make the eclipse prayer in congregation, Allah says:

"And among His Signs are the night and day, the sun and moon. Do not fall down or before the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah who is who created them, if I worship Him alone. " (Fussilat 41:36).

The prayer time is from start of the eclipse until finished. You should not do after if one does not nor should be rescheduled if you pass your time properly.

The way you should do is this: The prayer consists of two rakats. In the first rakat surah should be recited aloud to Faatihah (the Imam) followed by a long surah and then bend over a long period of time. Then stand to be folded and say, "Sami-Al-laah liman hamidah," and "Rabaana lakal-hamd," and then recites surah al-Faatihah again followed by a long surah. Then bend one again and then get up and do two prostrations long. The second is like rakah the first. This is the least of prayer in all circumstances. Have other descriptions but this form is the most confirmed. If a person acts to bend the last three or four or five is allowed if there is a need for it.

1. When a solar eclipse, the Messenger went to the mosque rushed, and made two Rakas (units of prayer) in the first recited a sura aloud long after Al Fatiha. Then made the ruku (bowing) and remained in that position for a long time, then rose, and stood for a long time also, but less than before. When he joined the ruku (bowing), said: "Sami Allahu liman hamidah, rabbana lakal hamd wa" which means "Allah hears who praises Him. Our Lord! Yours is the praise. "

Then he began reciting, and then bowed (reverence) again and remained in that position too long, but less than before. Then he made two sujood (prostrations) long. Later got up and made the second raka (units of prayer) in the same way as the first. Thus, there were in each raka (prayer units) two ruku (bowing) and two sujood (prostrations). Then he delivered a sermon.

2. He ordered people to do the following during the eclipse, remember Allah, performing prayers, reciting the prayer, asking forgiveness, and give alms.
